Renault Trucks radio code

Renault trucks such as the Magnum use the same Delphi radios as Volvo trucks, and the code is calculated the same way. Type the 16-character serial from the label on top of the radio – it starts with 89F, e.g. 89FKSFB112065005 – and the 4-digit code is shown instantly.

Which part of the serial to enter

Label on top of the radio – 16 characters starting with 89F Serial * 89FKSFB112065005 * → enter 89FKSFB112065005

Where to find the serial

The serial is on the label on top of the radio: 16 characters – 89F, four letters and nine digits – printed under the barcode, usually between two * signs. Type the 16 characters in the form above, without the * signs.

Label on top of a Delphi truck radio (our drawing, numbers made up). Type the 16 characters starting with 89F.

The other numbers on the label are part numbers, not the serial: the Renault Trucks number (P/N 7421…), the Volvo hardware number (P/N 21…) and the Delphi part number (28…).

Renault Trucks and Volvo: the same radios

Renault Trucks has been part of the Volvo Group since 2001, and many parts are shared – including these Delphi radios. On the label, the Renault Trucks part number is the Volvo number with 74 in front, next to the Volvo hardware number (P/N 21…). That is why the code is calculated with the Volvo truck method – the same as on the Volvo radio code page.

How to enter the code

  1. Switch the ignition on and the radio on – the display shows CODE.
  2. Enter the four digits and confirm, as described in the truck’s instruction manual.
  3. Enter the code once, carefully – wrong codes make the radio wait before the next try (locked radio help).

Which radios are covered

  • Delphi radios in Renault trucks – serial 89F… (16 characters) on the top label: code shown instantly.
  • Other Renault Trucks radios – serial not starting with 89F, for example newer multimedia units in the T, C, K and D range: send us the serial and our team will check.
  • Renault cars and vans (Clio, Megane, Trafic, Master…): the code comes from the pre-code – see Renault radio code.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get the radio code for a Renault truck?

Find the serial on the label on top of the radio – 16 characters starting with 89F, printed under the barcode – and type it in the form above. The 4-digit code is shown instantly and free. The radio usually asks for the code after the battery has been disconnected or replaced.

Which Renault trucks have this radio?

Renault trucks with a Delphi radio – the same units Volvo fits to its trucks, sold by Renault Trucks under part numbers starting with 7421 (the Volvo number with 74 in front). Renault Magnum owners have reported them. The label decides: if the serial starts with 89F, the code is calculated here.

Is the Renault Trucks radio code the same as for Volvo trucks?

The method is the same: Renault Trucks is part of the Volvo Group and these Delphi radios are Volvo parts, so the code comes from the serial in exactly the same way – also for Mack trucks with the same radios. Each radio still has its own code.

Where is the serial on the radio?

On the label on top of the radio: 16 characters starting with 89F, printed under the barcode between two * signs (e.g. *89FKSFB112065005*). Type the 16 characters without the * signs. The part numbers (P/N 7421…, P/N 21…, Part no. 28…) and the number on the back label are not the serial.

The serial of my Renault truck radio does not start with 89F.

Then it is a different radio – for example a newer multimedia unit in the T, C, K or D range – and this calculation does not apply. Send the serial, the truck model and the year with the request form and our team will check.

The radio is locked after wrong codes. What now?

After wrong codes the radio blocks entry for a while. Leave the ignition and the radio on until it asks for the code again, then enter the correct code once. A single wrong character in the serial gives a different code, so compare it twice first. More help: what to do when a radio is locked.
