How to enter the Dodge radio code
Put the ignition in RUN and switch the radio on. A radio with buttons shows CODE or LOCKED – type the 4 digits with the preset buttons and confirm as the owner’s manual shows. On a Uconnect touchscreen, type the code on the keypad shown on the screen.
WAIT on the display? Three wrong codes block code entry. Leave the ignition in RUN for 30 minutes without interruption (Chrysler bulletin 08-051-11), then enter the right code once – see locked radio.
Where to find the serial
The serial is on the label on the radio case – on the Durango’s 8.4 radio, for example, it is on the back – so the radio usually has to come out of the dash. Some Uconnect radios, e.g. in the Grand Caravan, also show the serial on the screen when they ask for the code. Full walkthrough: how to find your radio serial number.
Serial or part number? The serial starts with T (TM9…, T00BE…, TVPQN…) or, on newer Continental radios, with A2C. The part number starts with P and does not give a code.
When a Dodge radio asks for a code
- Dodges sold in Europe, such as the Nitro: the radio asks for the code after the battery has been disconnected. The code is on a card or sticker marked “Anti-Theft Radio Code”.
- North American radios from model year 2012 learn the VIN of their vehicle and usually start again by themselves after a battery disconnect. Moved to another vehicle, they ask for the code.
- After repairs: Ram, Charger and Avenger owners report the code request after a Uconnect update or after an engine computer was replaced – in their own vehicle.

Which Dodge radios are covered
All of these are recognised automatically from the full serial:
- Panasonic – TM9 + 9 digits (e.g. TM9205901394).
- Becker (Harman) – T00BE… (e.g. T00BE512870346); sometimes two possible codes – try them in order.
- Continental – TVPQN + 9 characters (e.g. TVPQN123456789), or A2C… on newer Uconnect radios, including some Uconnect 8.4 units in the Charger, Durango and Journey (e.g. A2C5324310400012745). For A2C serials the code comes from the last 4 digits.
- Alpine – T + a letter + 1AA… (e.g. TQ1AA2959A7235).
Not calculated automatically yet: MyGIG radios made by Mitsubishi (T00AM…) and Delphi radios (T0MYD…). Send the serial with the request form and our team will look the code up. Chrysler and Jeep radios are on the Chrysler and Jeep pages.
