Looked up in our database

Free – up to 50 different serials every 24 hours. Only for a radio you own; check the serial before entering the code.

What the serial looks like

  • Becker (T00BE)T00BE512870346
  • Continental (TVPQN)TVPQN123456789
  • Panasonic (TM9)TM9205901394
  • Continental, newer Uconnect (A2C)A2C5324310400012745

Type the whole serial as printed – the radio type is recognised automatically.

How to enter the Jeep radio code

Switch the radio on with the ignition in RUN. Radios with buttons show CODE or LOCKED: type the 4 digits with the preset buttons and confirm as shown in the owner’s manual. Uconnect touchscreens show a keypad – type the code there.

WAIT on the display? After three wrong codes the radio blocks code entry. Leave the ignition in RUN for 30 minutes without interruption (Chrysler bulletin 08-051-11), then enter the right code once – see locked radio.

Where to find the serial

The serial is on the label on the radio case, so the radio usually has to come out of the dash – it is held by screws behind the trim panel. On the Renegade the label is on top of the unit. Some Uconnect radios also show the serial on the screen when they ask for the code. Full walkthrough: how to find your radio serial number.

Serial or part number? The serial starts with T (T00BE…, TVPQN…, TM9…) or, on newer Continental radios, with A2C. The part number starts with P and does not give a code. The three-letter sales code of the radio (RES, RBZ, RHB…) only tells the model.

When a Jeep radio asks for a code

  • Jeeps sold in Europe: many radios ask for the 4-digit code after the battery has been disconnected or run flat. The Renegade owner’s manual says so; the code is on a card supplied with the manual.
  • North American radios from model year 2012: the radio learns the VIN of the vehicle it is fitted in. In its own vehicle it normally starts again by itself; it asks for the code when it is moved to another vehicle – a used or replacement radio.

Which Jeep radios are covered

All of these are recognised automatically from the full serial:

  • Becker (Harman) – T00BE… (e.g. T00BE512870346); sometimes two possible codes – try them in order.
  • Continental – TVPQN + 9 characters (e.g. TVPQN123456789), or A2C… on newer Uconnect radios such as those in the Wrangler JL and the 2019+ Cherokee (e.g. A2C5324310400012745). For A2C serials the code comes from the last 4 digits.
  • Panasonic – TM9 + 9 digits (e.g. TM9205901394).
  • Alpine – T + a letter + 1AA… (e.g. TQ1AA2959A7235).

Not calculated automatically yet: MyGIG radios made by Mitsubishi (T00AM…) and Delphi radios (T0MYD…). Send the serial with the request form and our team will look the code up. Chrysler and Dodge radios are on the Chrysler and Dodge pages.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get my Jeep radio code from the VIN?

Not here – the code is worked out from the radio serial on the label. A Jeep dealer can look it up with the radio serial and the VIN, and usually asks for proof that the radio is yours.

Why does my Jeep radio ask for a code?

Radios in Jeeps sold in Europe, such as the Renegade, ask for the 4-digit code after the battery has been disconnected or run flat. North American radios from model year 2012 learn the vehicle's VIN and usually ask for a code only when they are fitted to another vehicle.

My Jeep radio shows WAIT. What should I do?

After three wrong codes the radio blocks code entry. Chrysler bulletin 08-051-11 says to leave the ignition in RUN for 30 minutes without interruption – you can drive meanwhile. Then the radio shows CODE again; enter the right code once.

Does this work for Jeep Uconnect radios?

Yes, if the serial on the label starts with T00BE, TVPQN, TM9, A2C or T + a letter + 1AA. MyGIG radios made by Mitsubishi (T00AM…) and other serials cannot be calculated automatically yet – use the request form and our team will look the code up.

I bought a used radio for my Jeep. Will it ask for a code?

Usually yes – a radio from another vehicle asks for its own code. Type the serial from its label here. A dealer would ask for the VIN of the vehicle the radio came from.

Which number on the label is the serial?

The long number that starts with T – for example T00BE…, TVPQN… or TM9… – or, on newer Continental radios, with A2C. The label also shows a part number starting with P (e.g. P05091209AC); that number does not give a code.

Is the Jeep radio code free?

Yes. Codes from this page are free, without sign-up. If your serial is not recognised, our team can look it up.
